Details

Renthal bars come in many different sizes and shapes to suit different applications. We have chosen to sell a limited range of bars in a bid to reduce the enormous confusion that can result from looking at over 40 (!) different handlebar styles.

For larger type adventure bikes we recommend the Renthal 'Fat Bar RC High'. Used by most Dakar and Baja competitors to enhance comfort and saftey on their race machines, we have also found that this bar is a great addition.

Made from 7010 T6 aluminium these bars are superbly strong, reduce weight over standard OEM equipment and help reduce fatigue caused by poor riding positions during long days in the saddle or on the pegs.

(If your bike has non-tapered 7/8th inch diameter bars as standard you can use the Wirtz adapter in 'Related Products' to fit the Fatbar)

Questions on Renthal Fat Bar RC High Black

    • Hi guys.
I have an 990R adventure. Will these bars take my standard fitment controls (switches etc) and handguards?
      Many thanks
      Glen
    • Glen,

The standard KTM bar is pretty much a stright copy of the basic renthal fat bar. These will lift your bars ends by about 1". As long as you have enough cable lengths to all your controls you should be fine.

      Hope that helps.

    • Will fitting these bars, with Wirtz Universal Fatbar Mounting Adaptor, allow enough play in the standard cabling so as not to cause any problems?
      Cheers,
      James
    • James,

It depends on what bike you are fitting them to. Some are OK., some are not and will require some rework. Often just re-routing the cables provides the extra length you need, but its really hard to say until you actually fit the products as all bikes and even bike years are different.

For reference, KTM's are particularly difficult for this (which is why we sell lengthened cables for them!).

Hope that helps, sorry I can't be more specific.

    • Hi,
As relates to a 2010 BMW R1200GS. Will these bars take my standard fitment controls (switches etc) and handguards?
      Thanks,
      Tom
    • Hi Tom,

Probably not as the Renthal bars do not have threaded inserts that BMW seem to use to attach handguards to the bars.

The controls and switches etc should fit, but thebar end fitted stuff would not

      Hope this helps!

    • Does the bar pad come with the bar or is it extra?

      Many thanks,

      Sandman.
    • All of our Renthal bars come with a central bar pad.

      Hope that helps

    • Can I fit this bar on a BMW Xchallenge and do you guys know how much the raise will be compared to the stock bars from BMW?

      Thanks,

      Eddie
    • Hi Edi,

It will fit in the clamps, but I don't know if the XChallenge has any special fittings in the end of the bars?

Likewise I dont know the rise or sweep of the standard bars. I'm pretty sure it would rise them somewhat from what I remember of those bikes

      regards

    • Hello,
what kind of handle bar caps can I put on this handle bar ? What is the diameter of the thread ?

      thank you
    • Jean-Baptiste,

There is no thread in the end of these bars they are hollow tubing with an internal diameter of 15mm. Usually only OEM steel handlebars have threaded end inserts.

      We hope that helps.

    • Is this Bar fit with Suzuki Djebel 250XC. Of course used fatbar mounting.
      Thank you.
    • Yes, it should be fine with the Djebel as long as you use a fatbar mount.

      Hope that helps!

    • Hi again,
I'm a bit confused with inches mesurements..
On my bike, the genuine handlebar is 22 mm (africa twin rd07). Do I need the Wirtz adaptor to fit the Renthal one ?
    • Jean-Baptiste,

The standard handlebar on your Africa Twin is a 22mm bar. The Fatbar is a 28mm bar. To use this Fatbar on your bike you will need a Wirtz Adaptor.

      Hope that helps.

    • Hi guys.
Can you confirm if these bars will fit my Ducati Multistrada 1200S.
      Thanks.
    • We've never fitted these to a Multistrada so we can't say for sure. They will clamp ok, as these bars are the same diameter as the stock bars. However, the stock bars seem to have quite a distinctive curve to them, which might stop these from working as well.

      Hope that's of some help!

    • Hi, Is it possible to install the original Yamaha xt660z tenere handguards on these handlebars? Any bar end plugs needed?

      Thank you.
    • We've not tried to install these with Tenere handguards, but these are open and unthreaded bar ends. Hope that helps.

    • Hi AS,

Is this handlebar any higher than the one that comes stock on the 690 Enduro R or is it the same? Thanks
    • This is the highest handlebar (that we know of) on the market. It has a 20mm larger rise than the stock handlebars on a KTM 690.

      Hope that helps.

    • Hi Guys
Will these bars fit my Yamaha Xt660Z (2013) or will I need to use the Wirtz Universal Fatbar Mounting Adaptor. Also will I have enough cable length or will I have to fit new cables.

      Thanks Phil
    • That bike comes with standard 22m bars so you would need the adaptor to fit these. As for the cables, it depends on your individual setup as to how much slack there is avaliable. These bars are approx 2.5cm higher than the stock bars.

      Hope that helps.

    • Hello AS,

Do i need drill hole for fitting the switches and heated grip with my 2016 F800GS?

      Thank you

    • Hi

I am not sure if it will be an easy job to fit these to an F800GS. We have not tried it or spoken to any customers who have.

It seems that from many options that Renthal has to offer, the Adventure Specs has chosen the right one for Honda CRF250L. The Fat Bar RC High makes slow and fast speed riding more controllable and riding from the pegs (I'm 5'11") is now possible. I recomend this product!
