At Adventure-Spec we believe the most important additions to a bike are those that let you go beyond the 'safe' routes without worrying about terminally damaging your means of exploration, ie you or your bike.

Our new range of parts for Triumph's Tiger 800 and 800XC have been designed and manufactured with this principle as the primary focus.

Manufactured by CNC tube bending machines using a non-standard high tensile steel we are able to keep the seam running along the inside edge of the bars increasing strength dramatically over standard bent tube.

Completed with our usual high standard of TIG welding (unlike other inferior MIG welded products) and then triple powder coated for superb corrosion resistance these bars not only complement your bike but provide tough expedition tested protection.

We doubt you will find any better.

Be aware these crashbars may not fit 2015+ Models. Please contact us for further information.

    • Hi.I have the same qualms as another visitor to your site, when he states he thinks the upper side fixing-point of your crash-bars should go to the frame - not to the upper engine! - beyond that I find them THE crash-bars to buy for my coming Tiger 800(roady),and I have checked out all the alternative-brand solutions.Best-looking,likewise...
    • Clifton,

We have used the same mounting system for our BMWF800GS crashbars for over 5 years and have now sold over 2000 sets. During this time our customers have had some pretty spectacular crashes and have been good enough to not only notify us of them, but also provide feedback and images.

At no point has the connection with the engine separated or caused the frame or engine any damage, even when we heard of a 70 mph head on collision with an Audi that collapsed the left crashbar totally and left the car written off.

Of course we can not definitively claim that everything will always be fine, but evidence so far seems to suggest that our designs are effective.

We hope that gives some reassurance.

The bars are approximately 6kg plus the fitting kit.

    • Hi,

Will these crash bars protect indicators when bike is dropped on either side?

      Thanks.
    • Hi,

Its hard to say for sure, but usually when the bike goes down it will rest on the crashbars and handlebars which would keep the indicators off the ground, but every crash is different.

I'm afraid the bars will not fit the XRX, only the XCX model.

    • We have had other XCx owners buy and fit these bars without issue. There should be no problem with a US spec Tiger 800 XCx.

    • Although we have not tried to fit these on a 2016 model ourselves, some other customers have. They report that they do fit fine, but the clearance between the side plastics and the upper bars is very tight!

I have an SW Motech bars on my 2013 Tiger and your look like they offer better protection for engine covers especially the left side. Will you bars fit the 2018 XCA model?
    • Hi, Everything we've seen says that they do fit. A number of customers have the new (2015+) fairing style and our bars. Some have reported a close fit near the upper engine mounting bolt, between the fairing and the bar. They do seem to work though!

Great bars, easy install (but possible mistakes in instructions) Review by Jeff
Great bars, easy install (but possible mistakes in instructions)" by , written on 30 August 2016
Great looking bars, and very heavy duty as well. The installation was a snap once I overcame a couple of errors (or differences) in the installation instructions. First, on the right side install, they specify using a 17mm socket to remove the engine mounting bolt nut. On my 2013 800XC it was a 14mm nut. Secondly, the instructions say to replace the original Triumph 17mm nut. Make sure you "replace" (use the 17mm nut that Adv Spec supplies), not "re-place" the old nut. The old nut is a different thread (at least on my bike) and will destroy the new Adv Spec bolt. Still giving 5 stars since they look so great, and also look like they'll perform well if I happen to "test" them.

Excellent bars that fit the bike perfectly. High quality all the way around and still looks brand new after two years and a few drops.
However as mentioned by others the instructions are far from clear about the supplied bolts and nuts to the engine mount. I ended up damage the thread because I used the wrong pieces. My own fault but apparently not the only one that has done it.

I was a bit dubious at ordering bars that I hadn't seen but I needn't of worried, the fit and finish was excellent and with the correct tools relatively easy to fit.The bonus is that the finish on the bars matches the finish on the bike frame and the finished look is superb. Its not very often that an item fits so well straight out of the box,no adjustments to fit were needed excellent engineering .

Solid and well finished Review by Daz
Solid and well finished" by , written on 2 May 2016
As pointed out by other reviewers, this is a quality product, well engineered and finished to match the bike perfectly. I was impressed how the holes matched up without any need to struggle with alignment and I would hope that they will provide serious protection in the event of the bike dropping.
Getting access to the engine mounting bolts is a bit of a fiddle. I found it easier to remove more plastic than the instructions suggested, and undo the bottom radiator fixing so this would pivot forward slightly, to gain access to the nut. Note that the old engine mounting bolts and the new ones supplied have different threads so ensure that the new nylock nuts are used. This is not entirely clear in the instructions. I have just returned from a 400 mile bank holiday run and found no evidence of vibration up to 80+ mph, and found the bars useful for strapping the rain gear to.

Perfect! Fit and finish beyond reproach. Installed easily, in fact took less than half the time than it took me to install a new Givi Airflow windscreen. The SHAPE follows the lines of the bike beautifully and provide protection for the tank, plastic, and the engine. The powder coat is a spot on match to the rest of the frame so it's a seamless look.

My first order with Adventure-Spec and I have no regrets. Shipping to Austin TX took about 4 days total; that's really fast in my book!

Crashbars are a great build quality, and fit perfectly the 2015 XCX (US) model. Overall very satisfied with the shipping, quality, and pricing.

P.S. Some installation notes for the 2015 XCX (US).

1. You'll have to remove the upper and lower rad cowl on both sides to get to the engine mounting bolts, easy.
2. Use the hardware received in the package, do not mix the bolts or locknuts from your Tiger with the hardware provided. The thread is different. Again, use the hardware provided.
3. You'll need a long 3/8" socket extension.

Cordially,
S

Good protection, much more than factory bars Review by Lakehood
Good protection, much more than factory bars" by , written on 11 July 2015
I have a 2015 Tiger XCx. The bars fit well and the install is pretty painless if you have an assistant and either wobble ratchet extensions or u-joint extensions. However, the two large bolts and nuts I received for the engine mounts had improperly cut threads. The threads were extremely shallow therefore the nuts were hard to get started and bound up immediately as if they were cross-threaded. I was able to borrow a tap and die set from a friend and cut the threads to make the bolts usable, a huge frustration.
The bars fit with very minor contact with the plastic radiator cover on the left side. The bars do not protect the turn signals, but I think the turn signals are in a bad location to start with and need to be relocated (working on solving that problem). I think they will do well to protect the plastic around the gas tank and the engine case in most situation, much more protection than the factory bars.

***AS Comment : Sorry to hear about your bolt problems...I hope you dropped us a line before going to the trouble of re-cutting the threads, we would normally ship replacement parts immediately in the event of any fitting kit issues***

i was searching for a bar that would protect my blinkers as well as the engine. I found out about these bars from watching the awesome players mc on youtube one of the members had his front tire go down on the freeway and those bars saved his bike from allot of damage while taking minimal damage, complete paint removal from one side of the bars. they feel very well built, installed easy and do not vibrate on the highway like some bars I've reviewed i hope i dont have to use them but im confident they will perform as expected if i do.

Stylish and perfectly adapted to the Tiger 800XC, these crash bar offer a good protection and very little vibration, only at high speeds ... It is true that I wear Scout 60 which gives an extra vibration ... I little bit hard to fit them specially the front cylinder bolt position ... but worth it after all.

Like most others I did my homework on engine bars. I have used Adventure Spec in the past & I know their products are top quality. Most of the other engine bars I looked were smaller section and less mounting points.
Fast next day delivery was great. The bars themselves are an exact match in finish to my 2014 tigers frame. The part I was most impressed with was the fit. I fully expected to have to get a file out and elongate a couple of mounting holes as I though with 4 mounting points at least one wouldn't line up. Well I was wrong, every hole lined up perfect and all the bolts screwed in with my fingers. Well done to Adventure Spec for finding such precision engineering.

The best on the market" by , written on 17 October 2014
A beautiful product, designed with performance, looks and pride. The fit is spot on and even on the closest inspection its clear they are made to a very high standard.

Be aware that they are a pain to fit (hense 4 not 5 stars). This is entirely down to the engine mounting bolt on the right hand side which is very hard to reach. I used an extended socket, a wobble joint, an extension bar and another pair of hands to get to the nut (FYI it’s a 15mm nut not 17mm which the instructions say it is.) while I worked the bolt.

***It's worth noting that a few of the fasteners have changed from the original bike specification after a few years in production. We find these things out as we go along!***

I purchased my bike New from the Triumph dealer with these already fitted. Having looked on the market for other examples, I can honestly say without a shadow of doubt these are possibly the best I've seen.
From The design and Engineering point of view, they are a very well manufactured product, and the overall finish of the coating matches the frame and bike perfectly.
Excellent !!

I'd mounted a set of Touratech fairing bars in the early days of owning my XC before Adv Spec released their crashbars. There were so many annoyances with the Touratech bars that I finally gave up, removed them and the OEM lowers to install the Adv Spec bars recently - and very glad I did.

These bars are substantial, well made, and very well engineered. I knew I was happy when I noted the layout engineers had provided slotted bolt points to give some assembly freedom. (Too many CAD engineers draw it on a flat LCD screen with +/` .005 and no room for reality. Well done there, lads!)

Now the less than perfect: Using the front cylinder bolt positions as an attachment point is a bit of a pain. It works and works well, but I was damn glad I had the wobble drives and variety of extensions when it came time to try and get a socket in there.

On another note, the same engineers that got bonus points for the slotted bolt points elsewhere, lose points for running the right-side vertical tube directly in front of the lower radiator panel bolt point. I mean guys, seriously 5 mm either side would have been a nice touch.

Now minor installation whinges aside, I'm very happy with these. These bars do have a vibration frequency that can be felt at speeds after installation. I suspect it is a result of the long vertical tubes and the mounting points. as I've seen similar with other manufacturers on other motorcycles using this basic shape. Its not unbearable, but it is most definitely present when compared with the OEM or lower-only style bars.

Purchased for my 2012 Tiger 800XC and both service and shipping from AS was great.

The installation was straight forward and following the provided instructions ensured no hiccups. Provided one has the appropriate tools, anyone should be able to diy.

Once installed the integrity of the unit is great, as well as the looks. It protects what it is supposed to protect while not getting the way.

It is the best (IMHO) set of crash bars for the Tiger 800XC that I have run across. Quality, looks, price and service.
