The Golden rule of Overlanding accordign to just about everyone is don't ride at night!

Unfortunately there are sometimes when you just dont have a choice and its at these times when you're most at risk. Standard motorcycle headlights can be described as 'adequate' at best and most dual sport and enduro/trail bikes could better be described as poor.

An uprated lighting system offers better visibility to the rider and makes the rider more visible to other road users.

HID50 produce extremely rugged, reliable and powerful HID conversion kits suitable for most popular bikes. They are accomplished bikers themselves, having been the first people to legally ride across China back in 1994 and have given their kits a serious hammering to get them to the point they're at now.

High intensity Discharge lighting is light from a plasma discharge rather than a filament.  The system involves a combined igniter and ballast to start the light and maintain the current, and certain gases and metal salts to create the light.  Overall the system uses less energy than halogen lighting, while producing 4 times more light per watt.  HID lights are sometimes referred to as Xenon bulbs, due to the presence of Xenon gas between the electrodes.  Note that some halogen bulbs contain small amounts of Xenon (up to 5%) and accordingly brand themselves as "Xenon lights", but they are not High Intensity Discharge lamps and do not put out greater light than standard halogen bulbs.

HID50 kits feature have their internal ballast components manufactured in France and are specifically designed to run in more demanding motorcycle applications, unlike most other kits on offer that are made for saloon cars.......

They also offer 50w kits as well as the more usual 35w kits, giving even more performance

If you need additional lighting, or helmet mounted lights we have the excellent HID lights from Trailtech.
