23.09.08 - Adventure-Spec are moving home!!!

Due to issues with our web hosting Adventure-Spec will be moving house between 24th September 2008 and the 27th September 2008.

Between these times we have been told that any payment made will still be perfectly secure and that their will be no problems whilst the site is visible...

HOWEVER, at some point between these dates we will lose both the shop and the website for around 48 hours! Many apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank you all for your continued support. We promise to be back better than ever by the end of the weekend!

17.09.08 - Despite a HUGE accident Craig is still riding The Romaniacs 2008

After a 10 hour delay on day 3 of the Romaniacs 2008 caused by a series of events leading to concussion and a broken finger Craig hasn't given stopped riding yet!

After taking a prologue win on day 1 and a strong 2nd place on day 2 Craig will be fighting concussion for his final days riding during day 4.

13.09.08 - Craig WINS the Solo Expert Class prologue!!!

Riding like a guy without lots of unattached bits of bone in his body Craig showed his class today with a win of the Expert Solo prologue.

He was diasppointed not be able to race in the Profesional Class but felt that with his current health issues he ought to be taking it easy...

We're not convinced there is any 'easy' as a Solo Expert Entrant in the Redbull Romaniacs, but then we're not Craig!

12.09.08 - The Red Bull Romaniacs is now on!!!!

Craig Bounds limped away from the ISDE with a final 13th place in his class out of 73 teams. Not bad for a guy riding with a broken elbow and finger!

Not being one to give up easily Craig immediately got on a plane and headed to Sibiu to start his solo attempt of the Redbull Romainiacs Expert Class....like you do!

Due to personal circumstances one of the riders for our December 'Azalai' expedition has has to withdraw.

Full details have been released of the Adventure-Spec expedition to northern Mali in December.

03.09.08 - Craig damages his elbow on day 3 of the ISDE

A decimated field struggles on as this years ISDE is recognised as one of the hardest in recent years!

After a high speed fall Craig continues to ride with a badly damaged elbow which is slowing his teams progress.

Even so Craig's team are currently running 9th out of 74 Teams in his class. An excellent effort!

01.09.08 - Craig Rides Day 1 of the ISDE with the 6 man Welsh Team.

The Olympics of off-road motorcycling,the ISDE, saw its first day of racing today in Greece.

Adventure Spec rider Craig Bounds has just called in tired after a day of extreme heat and difficult riding.

01.09.08 Adventure-Spec sponsor The Purple Helmets...!!!

The Purple Helmets Motorcycle Team are well known for their worldwide outrageous displays of crazy stunts on Honda 90's.

What's less well known is that they are VERY acomplished off-road riders. Hailing from the Isle Of Man (and more properly known as the Southern MCC Isle Of Man ) they took advantage of an opportunity offered and entered a team in the 2008 ISDE. Competing alongside Craig Bounds on the world stage they hope to achieve some great results.

We couldnt resist helping such a great biking institution and have provided the team with six black anodized Guard it Technology sump guards for their 2009 KTM 250 EXC's .

Lets hope it goes a little better than the Purple Helmet Shows... Good Luck Lads!!!

14.08.08 - Catching Up With Craig Bounds.

After a quiet period post Optic Saharan Rally 2008 Craig has burst on the scene again with a superb second place in this years Welsh 2-Day enduro.

This was almost immediately followed by a Dakar2009 entry, selection for the 2008 ISDE Welsh Team, and an announcement of Craigs intention to defend his Prologue win in the 2007 Redbull Romaniacs!

Dave is one of our quieter sponsored riders who rarely ventures out on a bike...

'Azalai' will take place in conjunction with Beast-Of-Burden Expeditions and will be the subject of a film by Austin Vince.

22.07.08 - Adventure Spec visits the WEC at LLanidloes.

We had a superb weekend at the WEC despite the weather making things a little damp over Saturday. Our new shop worked superbly, thank you all for all your support after the loss of our last one...

The riding and racing was superb and many of you came down off the tests and told us how amazing the professional riders were and how much you were impressed with the course.

We were happy to spend time with friends old and new. Both Craig Bounds and Stan Watt were riding and popped in and out over the weekend to let us know how their Klim kit was performing (nice photo!!!).

We should also say thanks to Brian Eland for his company and beer on Friday night, and also Si Pavey whose tales of the Transorientale Rally were truly astounding. Thanks Guys (hope you like the gloves!!!)

15.07.08 - Adventure Spec shop rises like a phoenix from the ashes for the Welsh round of the World Enduro Championship this weekend.

Its been a pretty mad week trying to sort out a new shop in three days, but I think we might be nearly there.

We'd love to meet anyone whose heading to the WEC this weekend. We have the Team FrontRowGB guys down there, and Craig Bounds will also be present.

We will be showing our GPR Exhaust Systems, our complete Guard it Technology bash plate range, all our Klim clothing, and a large chunk of Kreiga stock as well as lots of random bits and pieces.

We'll be in a large (NEW!)white tent with the Adventure-Spec banner on the front. See you there!

12.07.08 - GBXC Welsh Round, Shop stolen PLEASE HELP!!!

It seems that with every 'UP', there is a 'DOWN'.

After last weekends huge success we were really looking forward to taking the new Adventure-Spec trailer and shop to the GBXC round in Mid Wales Tomorrow.

We were showing our Guard iT Technology bashplate range, our new GPR exhaust range (Just in!), and our complete range of Klim clothing.

Sadly we have just discovered that our new trailer and shop was stolen last night from Rawdon (just outside Leeds) together with Chris's XR650R.

Our apologies to those who were expecting to see us to pick up orders, we can only say that we we'll do all we can to be back for the World Enduro Round next weekend.

If anyone sees a Military Sand coloured twin axle trailer in the Leeds / Bradford area (or anywhere else) please let us know.....It may not be much to the scum who stole it, but it represents three months of hard work to us...

We are delighted to announce that from today Adventure-Spec will be stocking a range of GPR exhaust systems primarily aimed at Adventure/Dual Sport bikes and off-road machines.

Made from the highest quality materials (including titanium) GPR exhaust systems are homologated for legal road use, considerably lighter than OEM systems, include optional catalytic converters, add power and economy to your bike, and look AMAZING!

The range comes to us direct from Italy and GPR can boast no less than Casey Stoners '06 Honda RCV Moto GP bike amongst its users.

07.07.08 - Horizons Unlimited UK Meeting ... WOW!

What a remarkable weekend that was! As Sam Manicom remarked to me on Sunday, rarely do you see such a collection of characters standing around a camp fire!!

Thanks so much to all the people who came to speak with us, we had a great time. Please bear with us as we gather out thoughts and re-stock the shop to reflect all the new items we will be soon be selling.

It was particularly gratifying to see so many F800GS riders showing their new GiT bash plates and asking so many questions about the new engine bars. Despite our best efforts it now looks like it will be a further three weeks before delivery. Our apologies for those of you we know are waiting.

For those of you who asked about a price on the Technica travel shoes we are delighted to announce a price of £40.

23.06.08 - Horizons Unlimited UK Meeting in Two Weeks!!!!

Aruguably the worlds premier adventure biking meeting will be taking place in Derbyshire, UK from Thursday July 3rd to Sunday July 6th.

Over 500 adventure bikers are expected from around the world for a four day celebration of motorcycle travel and adventure.

Adventure-Spec will have a HUGE presence and will be:

1. Showing all their current clothing and hardware lines
2. Showing all 30 of their new product lines!
3. Announcing by official press release details of the new B.O.B. / Adventure-Spec 2008 Expedition (2 places still available for suitably experienced riders)
4. Giving talks and information on, Riding in Morocco, Traversing the Pyrenees Off Road and Travelling Light
5. Providing Kriega items for test riding

You'll have no trouble finding us, we'll be the ones in the rather large marquee. Come and see us and have a chat. We'd love you to tell us what you think of our kit, and what else you'd like to own for your bike that is either too expensive, unavailable, or downright wierd.

03.06.08 - New BMW F800GS Powder Coated Bash Plates Now Available!

It took us a few weeks to iron out some issues, but we are really pleased to announce that from Monday June 9th we will be taking orders for BMW F800GS bashplates with a black powder coating.

The cost of the extra coating will be a mere £10 on top of the original price, now thats a bargain! This will take the cost of the powder coated plate to £139.95, with free UK postage!

Please be aware that until we establish how successful this line will be we will not be keeping these in stock. You must allow for a leadtime of between 1 and 4 weeks depending on when you place your order in the month.

07.06.08 - Mick Halls sponsored, '5000 miles in 5 days', ride for the Air Ambulance and Riders for Health ends in success!!!

A rather saddle sore and battered Mick arrived home with a little time to spare after his Marathon 5005 mile ride.

We are delighted to annouce that due to popular demand a new range of Adventure-Spec crash bars are currently on the drawing board.

Inundated with requests about compatibility of our current BMW F800GS Bashplates with other makes of crashbars we set out to find out how we could ensure that your new Guard it Technology Bashplate didnt compromise your future capacity to safeguard your bike...

Unable to obtain ANY crashbars to test and compare we came to the only solution possible. We'll make our OWN!

Of course, you can be sure that our bars will be constructed to full Adventure-Spec standards. That means high quality, superbly tough, great looking, and at a great price.

19.05.08 - Adventure-Spec goes Tool Mad!

The tool above is possibly one of the finest pieces of adventure kit/trail tools EVER invented (in our opinion!).

Here at Adventure-Spec we are proud to include it in our new and growing selection of trail/adventure tools over in our Shop. The list will be growing slowly and steadily over the next few months so check back regularly as a full trail/adventure toolkit emerges.

Of course, all the tools we sell will be Adventure-Spec, which means that you can be sure if we're selling it, you can trust it!

18.05.08 - BMW F800GS Bashplates now in stock and ANODISED silver as standard!!

Our production facility is in full flow again and the picture above shows a few of our latest plates awaiting collection by the Anodiser.

In future all our BMW F800GS bashplates will be anodised silver as standard. This will add £5 to the price bringing the cost of the Bashplate to £129.95, but as we're sure you'll agree, the difference in quality and finish more than makes up for the difference in price

05.05.08 - Stan Watt rides Adventure-Spec gear to victory in the harshest Desert Rally of the season!!!

We are proud to announce that Stan Watt from Team FrontRowGB has won his class and placed third overall in the Optic Tunisian Rally 2008. After 4200km of desert racing against the might of factory teams, rocky oueds, and unraced Libyan dunes Stans efforts produced the following accolades:

1st in 450cc+ production class, 1st KTM home, highest placed privateer, highest ever placing by a UK rider in a round of the FIM International Rally Championship, and 3rd place overall.

Stan is now running 3rd in the FIM World Rally Championship standings. Check out our FrontRowGB and Rally Raidio pages for more details, pictures, interviews, and video clips.

Immediately after the rally Stan was quick to praise the versatility and technical performance of the experimental Klim Adventure-Spec clothing system he's been using all through his wet, freezing, UK winter training regimen and in the searing heat of the Desert. In amongst the chaos of the Optic Tunisia 2008 Desert Rally and TeamFrontRowGB's bid for a win we have pushed the bashplate development hard and are delighted to announce our full range of products are now available in our shop and are all in stock with the exception of the BMW F800GS plate which is arriving next Fri and will be priced at £125. 23.04.08 - New BMW F800GS Bash Plate fitted to bike.

Orders are now being taken for the new BMW F800GS bashplate. Made from CNC profiled 4mm aircraft grade aluminium with stainless steel fittings and corrosion resistant mounting bolts this British made plate is not just for for decoration. The Rallye based design complete with oil cooler air scoop and protection flap really will protect your bike both on and off-road. No wonder we already have BMW dealers enquiring about stocking it! This plate is definately Adventure-Spec.

19.04.08 - The Optic Tunisia Rally Starts Today. Adventure-Spec riders Craig, Jon, and Stan are all riding!

April the 19th is the start date for the Optic Tunisie Desert Rally and we have three riders taking part. 10.04.08 - BMW F800GS Sump Guard / Bash Plate now available!

April 21st our new hardware lines go on sale for the first time. Being proactive (as we like to think of ourselves!!!) we're still developing new models even at this late stage in the project.

In response to a request by a customer just two weeks ago we are pleased to announce our first BMW F800GS model bashplate has just arrived at the office. In 4mm aircraft grade aluminium with a full wraparound protective style it not only looks superb (thats the CNC machined profile cutting and hand TIG welding for you!) but is as tough as you would expect to fit a bike that is truly designed as an adventure machine. At the price we will be selling it for we expect to shift quite a few so keep an on our shop ...Another Adventure-Spec product has been created!

28.03.08 - Another excellent week at Adventure Spec

Thanks to everyone who came along to have a chat at the Red Kite Rally or the Red Marley Hill Climb last weekend. Warm it wasnt, but both venues hosted excellent events and we had a great time and met some excellent people. On Sunday Craig Bounds took his big BMW650 X Challenge to a convincing victory at the Red Kite Rally through some appalling conditions. Have a look at his pages for some film clips and interviews. Of particular note was the fuel stop interview where Craig wasnt his usual chatty self...it was only later we learned how hard he'd been pushing his bike and himself, regularly reaching speeds of over 100mph through the timed sections...

On Monday the Red Marley hill climb enabled us to meet and chat to a lot of you. We were very flattered by your comments about the quality and costs of our new bashplate range and took on board your requests for new models. We'll do the best we can!

Finally, after an excellent review in TBM last month our Klim Powercross Gloves have been selling faster than we can stock them! We always knew they were good, but its still great to see so many happy faces and hear so much praise for the quality of the product and the wonders of warm dry hands. Thanks Folks!

22.03.08 - Adventure Spec unveil the start of new hardware lines

Here at Adventure Spec we are expanding as fast as we can to make sure we really do bring you the best value products from a wide range of suppliers. When we cant find what we want at price we think is fair we dont just lie down and stock the same old stuff as everyone else.

From the middle of April Adventure-Spec will be exclusively stocking a range of bashplates that are around 30% cheaper than alternatives. The design and quality is absolutely superb and they are made in the UK. As usual they have already been tested, and if we do say so ourselves, they are most definitely Adventure-Spec! . 20.03.08 - Adventure Spec at Red Kite Rally and Red Marley Hillclimb

Adventure-Spec have a busy schedule this weekend. On Saturday night we'll arrive at the Red Kite Rally at Lllandovery rugby club for the event on Sunday. We hope Craig Bounds can continue his recent form and put in a strong performance on his BMW G650 Xchallenge. Then on Monday we'll be at the Red Marley Hillclimb for some classic motocross hillclimb action. We'll have the full Klim range to show, all of Kriega's great bags, a kit of RAM mount parts to allow us to fit GPS holders on site plus a selection of bashplates from our forthcoming range. We'll be in the big black tent, come and say hello!

18.03.08 - Adventure-Spec to attend Horizons Unlimited UK Meeting

No sooner do we set up our shop than we have to take it places and sell things! We are delighted to anounce that Chris Colling and Dave Lomax will be with the shop for the four day duration of the Horizons Unlimited UK Meeting from the 3rd to the 6th of July. There will be around 500 adventure riders in attendance and as well as the guys manning the shop and giving advice (i.e. chatting about travelling!) Dave will be presenting a series of Talks and Slide shows about his travels and running a drop in advice session on ,'Travelling Light'. Hope to see you there!

17.03.08 - New Product Lines Added!

We're really pleased to anounce that from Mid-March we will be selling products from KLIM, RAM Mounts, Kreiga, and Talon. We also have some really exciting new developments to announce next week that will break into a very new market for Adventure-Spec.
