Extreme Off-Road Adventure with

Dave Lomax

'Over weight is under prepared!', is Dave's usual cry as he sets off yet again for another extreme lightweight riding experience in some far flung place.

It's partly Dave's ethos that drives Adventure-Spec's buying and testing policys but even we're a little concerned about his latest ideas... Check out the 'Azalai' link below.

Arguably one of the most extreme motorcycle expeditions in recent years we are proud to sponsor the team and look forward to seeing if our equipment really is Adventure-Spec in, 'Azalai', A Film by Austin Vince.

10.07.08 - Dave's latest trip announced. 'Azalai' Lives!

Every adventure bikers dream is surely to ride somewhere that's never been ridden before, but in this overcrowded world a dream like this is hard to realise and is unquestionably going to mean some extreme adventure.

'Azalai' is indeed extreme...

Riding from Atar in Mauritania the warm up route would bring most riders to a cold sweat as the team cut south east through Chinguetti and Tidjikja. From there an 800km piste take the team to Tichit, Nema and finally through Dogon country to Timbuktu where the 'real riding begins'...

Pushing north from Timbuktu into the unridden empty western quarter of the Sahara the team will try to follow the only remaining ancient camel route still used over 1600km of sand dunes to the legendary town of Taoudenni. Rarely visited by westerners (and never by motorcycle from Timbuktu) the team will contend with tribal law and seas of sand as they battle their way north.

As with any good trip the expedition target will see the trip only halfway complete as the return trip to Timbuktu will continue to test both riders and machines.

As if this that wasn't enough the team have committed themselves to making, 'A Special Film', of the event and will be travelling with world reknowned film maker and director Austin Vince allowing him to record everything in a way that only he can...
