Wolfman Expedition Dry Panniers / Saddle Bags

Wolfman went all out to create the new Expedition Dry Saddlebags. These bags are designed to be durable and 100% waterproof, for the most adventurous and aggressive riders around. They started with burly 22 ounce and 34 ounce vinyl, and used cutting edge Radio Frequency technology for completely sealed welded seams.

The bags are available with a standard throw over fixing or with quick fit fixings to suit other manufacturers pannier frames (i.e. Hepco & Becker, SW-Motech, Givi, etc)

Wolfman called on friend Ned Sueese from the Dual Sport Riding Techniques DVDs. Ned is a leader in his field and gave expert beta advice on the bag design. Looking at riding extremes, beta testing was geared towards the ultra-aggressive adventure rider. Ultimately though, the functional simplicity of the bag-rack system works for everyone.

These Saddle Bags have two straps over the seat and each bag attaches to the Side Rack with 4 points for maximum hold. The mounting straps double as compression straps to keep the load attached and tight. During testing once the bags were attached to the racks, they were attached so securely that the bike could be dragged by the bags. Wolfman's mission was to create a functional, sturdy and quick release Saddle bag system that will act as one with bike and rider. No loose moving bags here!

If needed, these saddle bags can be mounted on other racks with a universal throw over mount like that on our Summit Saddle Bags and our previous Expedition Saddle Bags. Options and versatility!

They use an internal Butterfly stiffener, stiff back, bottom and front, which helps the bag retain shape and allows the load to be compressed tightly. A replaceable (!) non-skid rubber pad (made from recycled tires - how cool is that?) on the bike-side of the bag prevents excessive bag movement and protects the bag from vibration abrasion.

Check out the mounting video below. Please note that the video shows Wolfman's own racks that are in development. For fixing to 'standard' tubular racks 'loop and d-rings' are supplied to affix to rack tube. The loop and d-rings stay attached to the pannier frame and do the same job as the wire hoops in the vid.

Features include:

  • 100% Waterproof fabric - 22oz body and 34oz bottom.
  • Radio Frequency welded seams.
  • Waterproof roll-top with no-wick webbing
  • Multi Compression straps to cinch the load tight.
  • Recycled tire-rubber backing pad.
  • Extra tall opening for size adjustability

Plus:

  • Internal Butterfly stiffener helps keep contents compressed evenly, protects the insides of the bags from abrasion and sharp objects, and it is removable and replaceable.

  • Completely removable mounting harnesses. Cut a strap too short? Change of bikes? Wear, tear, or damage? No worries! Replacement strap kits are available.
  • Two different backing pads available - for mounting on a rack or mounting against bodywork.

Dimensions:
Length: 13”
Width: 7”
Height: 13” adjustable about 3” more.

Capacity:

    • What is the diference between "frame mount " and "throw over". I have some racks on the bike [not wolfman] and from wolfman site i learned i can mount these bag on my racks. What option shoud i choose?
    • The frame mount bags come with a set of 'D' rings which allow the bags to be fastened to the sides of a standard 'D' ring style of luggage rack. The throwover panniers are for use where you have no rear supports for your luggage.

      Hope that helps

    • Is it possible to mount the Wolfman Expedition Dry Panniers / Saddle Bags on a BMW R100GS?
    • It is as long as your bike has a rear lugagge rack system. The wolfman panniers will mount on any racks that have standard pannier hoops which can kjeep them from pressing inwards towards the back wheel.

    • Possibly a stupid question but is the price for a pair or a single pannier?
    • Hi David,

The price is for a pair.

    • Hi.
      does it come with
Wolfman Expedition Saddle Bag "Other" Rack Mount System . is it the same as the D-rings?
    • You get a set of velcro straps with 'D' rings on them that attach to your racks and allow you to connect your panniers. The 'D' rings stay on your bike and panniers can be removed as and when you need.

      Hope that helps

Lightweight luggage to go for! Review by Sansibar
Overall rating
After extensive research and reading tons of ride reports, I decided my new (!) hard panniers will leave - for a a pair of Wolfman Expedition Panniers. The kit consists of two saddlebags and a mounting kit for use with virtually any pannier rack. I have attached them to a Touratech rack and they fit great! And once adjusted by the straps, everything is fine! Waterproofness - tested right in my first ride with them. Capacity? In the left one, I packed my camping gear (sleeping bag, matress, dry food), in the left one some cloth, meanwhile the tent and the rest of my camping gear is packed to a rack pack. Works well!
