The GPX Club II is based on the original Leatt-Brace® GPX Club, the one that made our name. The GPX Club II is fully adjustable to suit most individual rider needs.
The Leatt-Brace® neck brace is a revolutionary system designed to help protect a rider against various forces on the neck during impact, namely the over-bending of the head and neck in a forward, backward and sideways direction by employing patented Alternative Load Path Technology™. This technology helps disperse impact forces away from critical areas onto less vulnerable areas of the body and is pivotal to the design of the Leatt- Brace®.
key features:
- The GPX Club II features stylish new padding.
- The brace is constructed from fiberglass reinforced polyamide resin, whereby microscopic glass beads are infused into the plastic to increase its bondstrength. This makes for a controlled, stronger brace, without compromising the wearer’s safety.
- Certain parts of the brace are constructed from carbon-fiber that is reinforced with Kevlar®. This helps prevent the parts from shattering and sharp edges to protrude.
- At the back of the brace, fitting firmly on the muscles surrounding the spine, sits an engineered thoracic member that helps keep the brace in position during an impact. This strut is designed to snap off at a certain force (roughly, one third of the force it takes to injure the spine).
- The rear-upper support acts as a crumple-zone, giving way under a severe load in certain circumstances.
- A unique cut-out section helps ensure the brace and helmet avoids contact with the collarbone.
- Rounding off the construction of the brace is shock-absorbing Bio-foam. Biomechanically designed to help cushion the chin and contain the brace material in an accident, Bio-foam is also fully replaceable and machine-washable.
- The brace features two red-coloured clips that identifies emergency openings to paramedics.
- Leatt-Brace® is CE certified (according to Personal Protective Equipment directive 89/686/EEC) and all materials used have been chemically tested and certified, so it is free of lead and other harmful additives.
- Maximum adjustability on the GPX Club II brace is achieved through six independent adjustment points and the brace is adjustable to suit most individual rider’s needs.
- Weight: approximately 790g ± 50g.

At LEATT® quality is serious business, it’s what our name represents and it’s the foundation on which our brand is built.
Needless to say then, we set very high standards when it comes to manufacturing.
Our safety products are not only tested in the LEATT®-Lab, they’re also checked at every stage during the manufacturing process. Strict inspections begin when each manufacturing batch of products is completed – NO critical failures are permitted.
We match each and every product in a given sample against an exhaustive checklist. And if just one product has a problem, then the whole batch is recalled. Random re-inspection is also part of the process – no shipment can leave without being cleared by an independent third party quality auditor.
But it doesn’t end there. Our products are constantly being field-tested on the track and in real-world environments where riders, like Dakar legend Cyril Despres, regularly provide feedback and updates. This not only ensures the quality of our products meet the needs of riders, it also fuels constant innovation.
Safety is a serious business.
Thoracic Strut
Positioned at the rear of the Leatt-Brace®, between the shoulder blades, on the para-spinal muscles surrounding your spine (and not the actual spine itself), the primary function of the thoracic (pronounced “thor-as-sick”) member/strut is to stop the brace rotating backwards in a crash. But that’s not all it’s been designed to do, in fact like a crumple zone in a car, the strut has been engineered to give way under certain stresses and absorb some of the forces associated with certain impact scenarios.
It’s made from a carbon fiber/woven Kevlar® compound, that bends without shattering, the strut is designed to break at approximately a third of the force that would otherwise be required injure your back.
Several prototypes have resulted in the optimal strut size; big enough to help protect, but small enough not to restrict movement.
Red release clips
In an emergency, paramedics may need to get to a rider’s airway quickly. A Leatt-Brace®’s two red release clips are immediately identifiable and allows for easy removal of the entire front/rear section of the brace. These clips are also designed with a double-locking mechanism that ensures the brace is kept secure around your neck, yet opens easy for removal.
Anatomical Design
The Leatt-Brace® has been designed to ergonomically fit around you. The materials we use are tested and certified safe.
In order for Leatt®’s Alternative Load Path Technology™ to perform at maximum potential, it’s necessary that your brace fits you properly. All Leatt-Braces® offer independent adjustability* to ensure the best fit. This adjustability also means that it can be used in conjunction with various chest protectors and body armour.
*some models may offer only limited adjustability.
Collarbone (clavicle) cutout
A specially designed collarbone cut-out section on the Leatt-Brace® reduces contact potential with one of the most fragile bones in your body - the collarbone. It has been designed to accommodate the collarbone and allow for free movement of the arms without the collarbone coming into contact with the brace.
A small amount of force can cause a collarbone fracture, which is why these kinds of injuries are so common. It is also important to remember that the collarbone can be fractured in a number of ways – if, for example, the rider lands on an outstretched arm, where the force travels up the arm and into the collarbone, a fracture can potentially occur. In addition, a direct fall onto the shoulder and a helmet rim strike can also potentially produce such an injury.
While a Leatt-Brace® is not designed to help protect against these kinds of injuries, it does however help reduce the risk of injury to the collarbone by preventing the helmet from striking the collarbone.

Crumple Zones
Like a crumple zone in a car, all Leatt-Braces® are designed with integrated crumple zones to help absorb impact* energy and divert this energy away from the neck in part. Specifically, the rear upper member of the brace is designed to deform and give way in a controlled manner in an accident. Other crumple zones are also incorporated into the front member and strut design.

Materials
The Leatt-Brace® is a high-tech device. Each compound every layer has been carefully designed and specially selected to fulfill a particular purpose:
- Fibreglass reinforced polyamide resin: microscopic glass beads are infused into the plastic to increase its bond-strength.
- Carbon-fibre, reinforced with Kevlar®: the Kevlar® keeps the carbon fibre from shattering and creating dangerous sharp edges in an accident
- Shock absorbing Biofoam: helps absorb impact energy and brings your head/helmet and chin to a controlled stop against the brace.
Chemical Testing
Our products comply with all chemical-testing regulations, in both the United States and the European Union. So you can be sure that they are free from lead or other harmful additives.
