Questions on Moskito Hand and CO2 Pump

  • From nigel at 28/04/2013 15:00
    • hi would this be any use for a 1200 tiger with a totaly flat tyre ?
    • Nigel,

If the tyre was tubed I think it would take a few compressed air cartriges to blow the tyre upto a manufacturers specced pressure. I think this is a really lightweight expedition/racer/ocassional emergency use kit.

      Hope that helps.

Not at all convinced Review by Ian

Have used the pump on its own without the CO2 and it is outperformed by an asthmatic mosquito. I can't seem to even be able to lightly inflate a bicycle tyre.

Adventure Spec Comment

***As someone who rides Extra H/D tubes on my own bike I hardly ever get punctures so although I have to take a pump just in case, I don't want to waste packing space or weight on something fancy that will be used (literally) 10 mins every 3 years. There is some pretty funny footage of us inflating a punctured tube in the middle of the Sahara Desert whilst on a filming trip using one of these pumps. I wouldn't describe the process as rapid, but that not what it's supposed to be. Using the cartridges it will quickly get you up to a pretty decent pressure, then you can use the pump to top up. Without the Co2 insert it becomes a SUPER lightweight pump or an emergency spare. It will inflate tubes, but expect a time of around 10 mins for a 90/90-21 to 25psi and certainly don't buy this for a workshop tool! ***
