Aim For The Horizon DVD

Adventure Spec are delighted to announce the arrival of the new 'Aim For The Horizon' DVD. An inspirational tale that could teach most of us a thing or two about our life choices. Think you can't do 'it'? These guys will show you not only that you can, but that the act of trying may well be enough to change your outlook on life forever.

Welcome to the essence of everything we stand for, this DVD IS Adventure Spec!

They say "Every journey starts with a single step". Sometimes that first step is the hardest one to take and some people spend a lifetime finding reasons not to do the things they dream of doing.

Aim for the Horizon documents the story of Rob proving to his friend Dean that anyone can have an adventure, and that regardless of your situation you should endeavour to realise your dreams. Deans dream turns out to be a bigger journey than he'd imagined as Rob decides to take it one step further, taking Dean from the depths of despair, to the top of a mountain.

So with no big budgets, no grand hotels or support teams they set the ball rolling...

Better than expected! Review by Karin
Overall rating
My boyfriend is a biker and he wanted the Sibirsky Extreme DVD for Christmas, so I looked for it here. In the process, I stumbled upon this Aim for the horizon DVD. Since my boyfriend would love for me to share his passion for biking, I thought "hey, those guys are a bit like us: one wanting the other to experience this adventure" and decided to buy this DVD as well. No regrets! Great story, great filming and editing, interesting information on how to do it and the same jolly feeling you get from watching Charley and Ewan. This DVD far outdid my expectations (very much unlike Sibirsky Extreme). Well done to Dean and Rob! (Posted on 28/12/2011)
Wow Review by Paul Reay

I originally bought this DVD because of its similarity to the 'Long Way Round' and also because some years ago I used to work with Robert Mason and was curious how things had worked out for him. Nothing could really have prepared me for the impact of the film, that sense of 'wow i want to do that too' came rushing back, not felt since i saw Ewan Mcgregors trip. In some ways it goes beyond that though, Robert has helped his friend get his licence, learn to ride and instill in him a new attitude to life that we all wish we had, at a time when he obviously needed it most. I'd recommend this film to anyone, especially but not exclusively to those who enjoy bike riding (Posted on 05/10/2011)

Aim for the Horizon DVD Review by William

This DVD documents the highs and lows of one man's attempt at following his dream, (with much assistance from his friend). Beggining with his first step onto a motorcycle, obtaining his licence, the highs and lows of his training, the joys and dissapointments of buying his bike, right through to his actual trip - this is a well made dvd which is truly inspirational & informative, (it even includes excellent advice on what equipment he used). The only let down is the excessive use of bad language during (an obviously staged) scene at the very end but as that only lasts for the last few minutes, it does not take away from the overall excellence of this dvd and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has the 'urge' for motorcycle travel. Bare Bones Adventure! Review by Rich K
Overall rating
Loved the "long way round"...and bits of "long way down" but this is a pure bare bones adventure on realistic everyday bikes with down to earth blokes! Loved it! Proper midlife crisis boys-own stuff. Well filmed and presented. Worth every penny. (Posted on 05/10/2011)
I WANT TO DO IT! Review by AAC

Baught the DVD through hearing about it in a forum so I had a basic grasp on the idea to begin with. I didn't however, expect it to be as good as it actually is. I've seen quite a few biking DVD's that have been made by a bloke and his mate on their home camcorders, but this goes far beyond that. I can picture my self watching this on TV as a little series. The thing about this DVD is that it starts from the begining. The real begining. Getting your licence. That's where the story should start. It's great to be able to follow these 2 going through all sorts even before the actual trip. The trip is also a great part of the DVD. It follows a route/journey that anyone of us could realisticly do tomorrow if we wanted. Yes there are bits that as an average biker we probably wouldn't do, like the ride with the lifeguards on their boat, but pretty much, everything else is achievable. Good work. This is one I could watch more than once as well. Thanks (Posted on 05/10/2011)
