The Yamaha France Yamaha Yz450F Rally's (David Casteu and Olivier Pain) and the Husqvarna TE449RR 's (Paulo Goncalves and stage 10 winner Joan Barreda Bart) are both clearly running the lights, other teams include Honda Racing Argentina who scored a third on the opening stage with Javier Pizzolito (no27 in video below). In a rally situation simple and effective is the key and exactly why we've been turning customers on to these units for the last couple of years.
Rally bikes had for a long time used HID lighting systems, but unreliable ballasts and bulky complicated wiring place too much added draw on the fragile but critical electrical system.
