    • How much weight can I mount on this rack?
    • The rack is designed to allow you to position items to the rear of your fuel filler cap. HOWEVER, we do not recommend putting heavy items like fuel tanks and heavy tool rolls ot the rear of the mounting points as this will cause the welds to crack.

We have been asked why we do not add more structural strength to the rack or provide structural mounting points further towards the back of the bike to allow this.

Firstly there are no structural mounting points rear of the points we already use, and secondly the rear mounting points are not designed to take large loads as they are actually grab handle mounts. When we designed the rack we looked closely at these points and noted that they are metal inserts embedded into the plastic fuel tank and rear sub frame.

We are now confident that our rack will break before these mounts are pulled out of the rear subframe/tank necessitating extremely costly repairs and possibly resulting in an extremely dangerous sitaution of a damaged/leaking fuel tank in an unknown location.

We therefore recommend ensuring that all heavy loads are placed ABOVE the mount points and tht the rear of the rack is used for carrying lighter items such as spare clothing etc.

    • This rack is mounted over the hand grips or I have to remove them to fit?
    • The rack uses the same mounting points as the rear hand grips. I have seen a bike fitted with our rack and the handguards at the same time but it was designed to be used by itself.
