Guard-it Technology Bashplate KTM 690 E/R Description
This new Guard-it Technology bash plate takes engine protection to the next level.
We know what you want to do with your bike and where you'll be going, into the middle of nowhere!
This guard offers superior levels of protection to anything we've seen while still being slim and not compromising the bikes performance in deep ruts.
It features a hole to allow you to view the oil level and a guard extension to the rear to protect the vulnerable rear master cylinder. The left side is flared a little to deflect away from the side stand, plus we added a hole below the front sprocket to stop mud building up.
We chose three KTM690r's for our recent month long filming trip to North Africa. The GiT bashplates we used kept our bikes safe through 2000 miles of sand, mud, rocks and rivers. When we took them off on our arrival home were were delighted to see that they were still in excellent condition and that the hard anodised coating even scrubbed up pretty well too!
You can see them in action HERE on our latest film trailer or check out the Adventure Motorcycling Morocco DVD in our DVD section.

Brilliant product. The fit and finish are excellant and without doubt the strongest 690R bash plate on the market. However the oillevel sight glass hole is to small ( I have opened mine up a bit ) and if you ride a lot of mud you must pack the frontal area of the guard between the engine case and itself with open cell foam this area does fill up to easily. 690R's are heavy enough already. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER GUARD FOR YOUR MONEY. (Posted on 05/10/2011)Overall rating - excellent experience Review by Jesse Silva

I called from the United States (CA) to order a guard-it skid plate and the staff was extremely helpful. the whole transaction was very straight forward, and they accept practically every form of payment. The package arrived literally two days later, and the fit of it is perfect. More Riders Should know about this product because beats anything out there. No more weird hooks that have a horrible fit on the bike as well as the struggle of mounting it. My hat is off to the staff of Adventure Spec, and the folks with Guard-it Technology. OH, the skid plate is for my KTM :) Thanks!!! (Posted on 05/10/2011)Overall rating
