Guard-it Technology Bashplate KTM 250-525sx/exc '03-'06 Description
Guard it Technology is the Adventure-Spec response to our customers requests for top quality bashplates sold at sensible prices. Our guards are now used by top extreme enduro rider Graham Jarvis and tested by many other professional riders who are riding in top level competitions.
By using a thicker section and higher specification 4mm aircraft grade aluminum on the enduro guards and the same grade of high tech 3mm aluminium on our race guards we can ensure that externally the bashplate is hard enough to take bangs and knocks without deformation, but soft enough not to crack or split under extreme impacts. This means a quality product that will protect your bike and look good year after year.
All bashplates are CNC profile cut, bent, and TIG welded on BOTH sides before being hard anodized. There is no spot welding to any part of the plate.
All our bashplates include either stainless steel or aluminium fitting kits and all come with top quality stainless fasteners.
Because we use bashplates as often as you do we know that cheap fiddly spacers that float around might allow the manufacturers an easy life where manufacturing tolerances are concerned, but make removing and replacing them a real pain.
We dont believe in fiddly anything, or poor quality design, thats why Guard it Technology bashplates fit the bike first time everytime without fiddly bits, bending,or bashing with a hammer!
They also protect all the parts of the bike that you would expect. Why design a bash plate that leaves your waterpump housing or oil cooler exposed? Nope, we dont know either!
We dont believe in lead times of six weeks, or price without quality. All our plates are British engineered and made locally near our base in the North of England.

Whilst greenlaning a couple of weeks back, I lost my KTM black plastic guard. Contacted local dealer who wanted circa £60 for a replacement !Overall rating
As I was ordering a bunch of other bits from the ever helpful guys at Adventure Spec, I mentioned my dilemna and they recommended this GiT bashplate.
I suspected it would be a 30 minute job, however once I had removed the plastic plugs in the lower frame, I had the whole thing fitted in 10 minutes!
The quality and fit are lovely, it will be tested in anger tomorrow - so having now read the other review :- if it is reasonating I will add some rubber spacers. (Posted on 23/03/2012) - Fits like a glove! Review by John N

I put this on my 525EXC last week, no fuss, no bother (apart from getting the two blanking screws out the frame).Overall rating
It fits like a glove and gives very good protection to the motor.
After a few hours of riding, I did make one mod and decided to use rubber spacers (and loctited the bolts) between the frame and rear bash plate. The RFS engine can be a noisy and alloy guards like to amplify / reosnate a bit.. So the rubber spacers calmed it down!
As for price....best value / quality bashplate on the market, period! (Posted on 07/10/2011)
