Klim Traverse Jacket Description
The highly anticipated Traverse Jacket is designed specifically for enduro and off-road riders who demand an extremely durable, waterproof and presicely patterned riding jacket. Highly durable GORE-TEX® fabrics protect you from the elements while drawing moisture away from your body, keeping you dry and comfortable. Built-in ventilation allows you to adapt to whatever environmental condition you face.
For those riders who prefer to have armour in the jacket we can offer the excellent FORCEFIELD UPGRADE ARMOUR to convert your jacket to a fully armoured model. All Forcefield armour is tested to and beyond the highest level of certification for its type, that is CE Level 2 for the back insert and CE Level 1 for the shoulders and elbows. As such it comes certified to Adventure-Spec!

- How much protection will this suit provide compared with something like my BMW Rallye 2 Pro suit?
- The Rallye 2 Pro suit from BMW uses a 500 denier cordura for its outer road abrasion resistant layer which is significantly less abrasion resistant than the 840 Denier Cordura used in the Klim Traverse jacket. In fact, I believe that the Traverse jacket is also far better protected from road abrasion than the Rallye 3 Pro Jacket although that is hard to prove as BMW will only state that the Rallye 3 Pro suit has Cordura patches that are 'specially treated' by BMW but will say no more...The BMW cordura on the Rallye 3 Pro certainly looks thinner than Traverse material and more like the 500 denier cordura of the Rallye 2 Pro when examined side by side.
The additional armour that you can purchase for the Traverse suit is from 'Forcefield' one of the the market leaders in impact technologies. All the test results from Forcefield and independent testers clearly show that its protectors absorb impact better than any other manufacturers armour. Thats why we use it!
For that reason we think its safe to say that in terms of impact and abrasion resistance the Klim Traverse Suit outperforms the BMW Rallye2 and Rallye 3 Pro suits.

Last year februari I purchased both the Traverse jacket and pants. Its performance has suprised me in a pleasant way. To prevent disappointment one has to considder the fact that the Traverse is the outer layer of the multi layer Klim concept. If you do understand this, you have bought an excellent product which is very durable and versatile in all climate conditions. Usualy I wear full body armour underneath, sometimes in combination with a soft shell jacket and/or an extra fleece. In desert conditions the clever ventilation zippers provide ample aircooling. Both jacket an pants are 100% watertight in torrential rainfall conditions. (Posted on 16/02/2012)Overall rating
