Riding with Boundsy!

Chris from Adventure-Spec took a break from the office to spend the weekend being shown around South Wales by Dakar competitor Craig Bounds.

Craig’s vast knowledge of the areas track and trails led to two days of spectacular and challenging riding. The group including Mark from G-iT and Dom from Kriega left exhausted but satisfied they’d experienced some of the finest trail riding the UK has to offer.

Adventure-Spec will be offering riding and training days with Craig in the near future. Small groups and personalised itineraries are the order of the day. If you’re interested drop us a line for more details

Craig Bounds talks about his hopes for the UK Rally Championship mid Cambrian Rally

We were lucky enough to catch up with Craig during the Cambrian rally last week to ask him of his hopes for winning the Trail (Rally) Bike Class of the UK Rally Championship after his 5th consecutive win, here’s what he had to say. Any of you wanting to meet Craig can find him on our stand at the upcoing Dirt Bike Show 5th-8th November at Stonleigh Park. Craig will also hopfully be receiving his trophy on the main stage Saturday at 12:15pm. He’d love your support!

Craig runs Stages fourteen and fifteen to a DAKAR 2009 Finish!

After an unbelieivable two weeks of racing Craig Bounds finished his first ever DAKAR today in 54th Position. Only 50% of the bike field managed to finish at all and Craigs achievement is all the more amazing when you consider the injuries he started the race with. We’ll be honest and say that we really didnt expect to see Craig START the event, let alone finish. We stand corrected!

There is no doubt that Craig has now arrived on the international rally scene in style. The forst Welsh person to finish the event he was, ‘only riding at about 65%’, and we’ll be doing everything we can to make sure we see him back on the startline next year wearing our KLIM riding gear and ready to give it 100%.

Craig runs Stage thirteen

545km of racing down fast open tracks never allowed Craig to open up any more of gap on those behind him on larger engined bikes, but a quick conversation told us that Craig is now concentrating on hold in a fiftieth(ish) position and finishing his first Dakar. An Amazing achievement when you consider his physical condition!
